Program about the increasing rates of drug abuse and teen pregnancy. We discussed some of the causes and reasons behind teen pregnancy and how drug abuse and teen pregnancy correlate. It was interesting to get the opinion of the residents in my hall who know individuals that are a result of teen pregnancy and who happen to use drugs.

Program: What it means to be Greek?

This program was about Greek life. Many of the residents are interested in Greek life so i came up with a panel of Greeks to discuss about Greek life. The panel consisted of advisors and students on campus who are involved in Greek life. Not many residents came out, but the information was very effective and useful for the residents.

Program: New Jack City

My focus area is Socioeconomic differences and Advancements/ Urban issues. I felt that New Jack City would be a great movie for the residents to watch. We discussed the use of drugs in the inner city and how they affect the youth in our inner cities.

Program: Real Men Real Talk

On February 7, 2011 NAACP and I held a program known as Real Men Real Talk. We networked with some administration on campus, we were able to get some men from the outside that would talk about their struggles. The residents and other members in the audience were very engaged. The men on the panel included artist, ex cons, college graduates and others. The residents could really relate to the panel.

Program: Boyz n the Hood

After searching a long time for this movie, the residents finally got to watch Boyz n the hood. It was a great program. Many of the residents could greatly relate to the program. I feel that it is a movie that everyone should watch.

Residents Marvin Medley and Camron Gilbert had a good conversation about Morehouse and there first year experience. The residents were very passionate about the topic and felt that Morehouse needs some changes to occur.

The residents ( Wsir Amen, Dominique and Fannon Brown) and I played a game of spades in White Hall Lobby. I really got to hang out and get to know the residents. We really enjoyed ourselves.

On 12/1/ 2010, the residents Lemell Overton and Daquarius Anthony went to the Kappa probate together and supported some of the brothers who were crossing. The residents were very intrigued by the show. Im glad that they had a good time, and they had a chance to see what greek life is about here at Morehouse

Program: How do you expect females to react?

This program was a joint program with Anre Washington. The program was very informative. Members of the sophomore class council played a big part in the program. The residents seemed very excited and interested. The residents and I took away alot from the program.
